GIVI Magazine - Novembre 2014

GIVI PEOPLE CAN A GLOBAL COMPANY BE TRULY CLOSE TO ITS CUSTOMERS? YES, THANKS TO SOCIAL NETWORKS AND A SHARED PASSION: TRAVELING BY MOTORCYCLE. G IVI people love their jobs because by producing accessories for mo- torcyclists they are in touch with all of you, with your vision of the world as travelers. No matter which motorcycle you use, when buying a product and mounting it, you take a piece of the company around the world with you and this, for those working in Brescia, is a wonderful thing to share. That’s why the protagonists of this issue of the Magazine include you, our customers ... and our friends. Your passion for motorcycles is really so- mething incredible: you can choose to travel for miles and miles without stopping except for the bare essentials. You travel everywhere taking a GIVI product with you in the most remote corners of the earth, and nothing seems to be able to stop you: in the rain, with the sun, on impassable roads because of mud or rocky terrains. And then the many curves, miles and miles on highways around the world, mountain passes, remote and fascina- ting back roads, as well as within the walls of historic cities or small timeless towns. Motorcycles give us the freedom that we love. For this reason we have imagined a journey made up of many pieces composed by you all. What you have taken on your journey has enabled the company to get to know you and to then share your motorcycle trip with others. There are many of you and consequently we had to select just a few of you who contac- ted GIVI via social media: here are just a few stories. FRANCE AND NORMANDY. TWO TRIPS FOR DANIELE DE CARLI Daniele De Carli rides a Kawasaki Versys 1000 with a passenger and a tent. There never seems to be enough space, so as he headed west the bike changed in appearance and equipment from one year to the next... “The bike was loaded” - Daniele says - “having chosen camping as the main accommodation, space is never enough, and GIVI’s catalog pro- vided me with all the accessories necessary, including a full set of Trekker Outback cases. Thanks to the mild weather the plan was to travel in the Camargue, where the border between land and sea is never defined. Oran- ge, Arles, and Pont du Gard told us about the long history of these regions and the Outback Trekker cases turned out to be excellent for storing motor- cycle clothing when visiting the city. We were on the move again to Perpignan, the coast, the sea and the Pyrenees which are chock-full of surprises and gorges to explore. The Spanish border was too tempting not to be crossed. Unfortunately, it was already time to head back, thinking about the next tour in Europe. The year before, our trip took us to Omaha Beach, a goal I had in mind for some time. A hot day accompanied our journey to the North, and only through the Gotthard Pass did we find some relief from the heat. We took the motorway and in a couple of days we got to the English Channel but ... it was pouring! The motorcycle was equipped with GIVI LED projector spotlights, useful in the case of poor visibility as was the fluorescent vest. In addition, our luggage was dry inside the bag set and top case. The weather got better as we went along the coast, passing Fecamp, the cliffs of Etretat, and Normandy Bridge which were just some of the places that are worth a stop. Finally, we arrived at the Normandy landings and Omaha Beach, places with an incredible mixture of horror and beauty. After a few days we head to Le Mont St. Michel, St. Malò and to Cap Frèhel from which we start towards home, passing through Versailles... “ Motorcycle used: Kawasaki Versys 1000. Ben said: “I left at midnight, the motorcycle was loaded: clothing, equipment for camping, and a number of useful items for my road trip. I took the road which from Norwich brought me to the Channel Tunnel captions 1) THE OPENING ARTICLE OF THIS ISSUE OF THE MAGAZINE IS DEDICATED TO OUR FOLLOWERS. IT IS A WAY TO PLEASE AND THANK OUR CUSTOMERS WHO TRAVEL THE WORLD BY TAKING THE GIVI BRAND WITH THEM”. near Calais, to get to France and then conti- nued my journey on the continent. Heavy rain in France followed me to Brussels and the sun finally came out in Monschau, Germany. At that point I decided to do some intermediate stop-overs, and so I got lost for a bit in Heidel- berg and again in Fernsteinsee, Austria. I love the long trips and so from Austria I went to Verona, where I stopped for good food and great wine, but without skipping a tour of the old town while looking up to admire the an- cient walls of the Arena. From here it was easy to travel through the mountains and lakes of northern Italy toward Como and Chiavenna, to drive on unique routes all the way to the Splügenpass. Through Switzerland - the land of a thousand shades of green - I continued to Lake Constance, right on the border between Germany, Austria and Switzerland. At this point I traveled quickly toward Hagenau in France and Pommerloch in Luxembourg, and then back to Belgium and Calais, to get home. What is left with me after this trip? More than 4,000 km (2,500 miles) traveled over 11 days. Truly incredible! Travelling the Alps and really discovering that Northern Italy is wonderful: I confess that I’m in love with Verona, despite the fact that the rain made the “Land of the Sun” less warm. Everything I had with me remained safe, secure, and dry thanks to GIVI. I can tell you that my side bags and tank bag were perfect and turned out to be waterproof, sturdy, and absolutely practical. Two weeks later I decided to buy a GIVI touring windscre- en so I’m ready for the trip next year. I’m considering Spain, but really I still feel a call to the Alps and the beauties of Italy...” Motorcycle used: Honda Transalp XL700V. His story begins: “I have always been a biker, for more than 25 years, and have long been a fan and a user of GIVI accessories for my bike. To make my trips safer and more comfortable, I try to stay up-to-date on new products and considering the various weather conditions and distances, I equip the motorcycle appropriately. In 25 years I have really traveled throughout all of SEE MORE PICTURES 10  community
