ENGLISH TEXT WHAT A SHOW! THE TWO MOST IMPORTANT MOTORCYCLE SHOWS IN THE WORLD, INTERMOT AND EICMA, DID NOT DISAPPOINT THE EXPECTATIONS OF FANS. COLOGNE AND MILAN SPLIT THE EXCELLENT PREVIEWS OFFERING A PANORAMA OF GREAT HOPE FOR THE TWO-WHEELER SECTOR. T he motorcycle manufacturers, as usual, did the lion’s share, but each exhibitor put forth its best efforts to appear solid, innovative, creative, credible, and ever closer to the real needs of users. Our attention was naturally focused on the work done by GIVI which presented many new products at the two events. Here are some of the main new products. 50.4 SNIPER THE NEWFULL FACE FOR THE CITY AND TOURISM Weighing less than 1.5 kg, it is offered in many colors and has a standard double visor, nose guard and screen. The 50.4 marks a culmi- nation in the development of the GIVI brand full face. This model includes all the impro- vements that have characterized every prior version (from the 50.1 to the 50.4). The fit and quality of the interior, hypoaller- genic and completely removable, have also improved significantly. A significant contribu- tion also comes from the new colors designed by GIVI for the new 50.4 SNIPER, which to the basic colors adds the eye-catching graphics of the TRACK and SPORT lines. STORMBAGS BEAUTIFUL INSIDE ... AND OUT Just calling them waterproof inner bags for Trekker Outback aluminum cases is limiting. These new soft GIVI “containers” do much more for the rider looking for intelligent solu- tions to handle baggage. In fact, each of the four STORM BAGs are an interesting solution even for those who do not have the OUT- BACK cases. That is, the T506, T507, T511 and T512 models can also be used externally, increasing valuable luggage space. They can be attached with the neon yellow elastic straps provided with the rack, to the rear seat or over the side and top cases themselves. In addition, they can also be used as a bag to take with you, once you get off the motor- cycle, thanks to the shoulder strap. A BIG FAMILY OF SMALL ACCESSORIES! New hand guards, tool bags and engine guards, new fastening systems for GPS holders and smartphones, and a good number of redesigned solutions together with many new accessories for ranges already on the market, to make them accessible for an increasing number of motorcycles. A real revolution for GIVI, which brings to the forefront a huge number of accessories for efficient storage solutions, to protect engines, improve riding comfort and, of course, to provide a touch of personality to your bike. There are so many new items, makeovers and range extensions that it is really hard to list them all. LONG LIVE THE MAXIA! IT’S THE 4th GENERATION! Maxia is the most widespread Monokey top case produced by GIVI. Over more than two decades this case has undergone numerous makeovers and is now reintroduced to the public more ele- gant than ever, as a 4th generation design. The first Maxia dates back to 1991, followed at a distance by the 2000 and 2008 versions. A very long “career” for a top case that has equipped motorcycles and scooters of all kinds. Many technical/aesthetic changes have beenmade by GIVI’s R&D department and practically involve all themain components of this large top case. THE “MINI” TANKLOCK BAG A super compact tank bag equipped with a quick-release system for the fuel tank cap. Suita- ble for naked and sport motorcycles, it adds an extra 3 liters of storage space for small items and becomes a comfortable handbag at the destina- tion. If you like “Naked” motorcycles and pockets, the new MINI by GIVI is the logical solution. It takes up very little space, attaches and relea- ses in a second, once at the destination it can be carried on a shoulder and its 3 liter capacity is enough to hold a disc lock and a rain jacket. The MINI adds a “minimalistic” alternative to the GIVI TANKLOCK range that will appeal to sport and naked motorcycle owners. T508 SOFT BAG ... THE RIGHT PLACE FOR THE CAMERA! This is a container made specifically to protect a reflex camera including extra lenses and accessories. GIVI has designed and sized it to be placed on tank or saddle bags, but nothing prevents its use in a “stand alone” mode. Something very appealing to motorcyclists who are photography and video enthusiasts are the internal padded dividers made of anti-scratch velcroable fabric which can be moved and adapted to the different shape of cameras, lenses and so on. Power char- gers and cables can be placed in the mesh pocket on the cover equipped with a zipper. The new T508 bag, made of Polyester 600 D PU, was designed to be housed inside GIVI tank or saddle bags with a 14-liter or larger capacity. 10.8 URBAN-J AND 10.7 MINI-J ARE WE TALKING ABOUT COLORS? The new versions of the 2015 helmets incre- ase their appeal with new color options that will help make the winter less gray. This time the models which seem to benefit the most, in terms of look, are the 10.8 Urban-J and 10.7 Mini-J. The first is the “winter” version of the two, thanks to the long visor and neck roll (removable when the warm weather arri- ves). A smoked sun visor and the outer shell available in two sizes are standard features. The 10.7 Mini-J, for which GIVI also provides new comfort padding, is easier to use and designed for a broader number of users (in fact, the color range includes options for females). EA113 LEGWALLET XL Cars have many convenient compartments for small items. Unfortunately motorcycles do not! As a result we have to gear up with bags to be attached to the motorcycle...and ourselves. In these cases, the position of the leg is a convenient “anchor” for a soft bag... right on hand. GIVI offers a new, rather large model. The GIVI EA113 is marketed with the acronym XL. Its main plus is its size, desi- gned to be truly useful for varied contents. The internal capacity is separated into two compartments: a main compartment with an internal mesh pocket and a front compart- ment with a useful pocket for a smart- phone. The fastening system is extremely secure and uses adjustable straps for the thigh and waist. SEE MORE PICTURES Givi Magazine Novembre 2014 - novità 2015 15
