ENGLISH TEXT THE TEST HOW TO MAKE THE HINCKLEY ON-OFF EVEN MORE ADVENTUROUS, WITH OPTIONALS TARGETED AT SAFETY, SECURITY AND QUALITY W e continue our long-test in the company of the Triumph Tiger 800 XC SE which in recent months has been positively appreciated by the Editors of OmniMoto.it who have traveled many miles together with the English three-cylinder in all weather conditions, including mountain roads, panoramic coastal roads, and light off-road. Like all Triumphs, even this on-off road bike likes customizations and in addition to the official catalog of the manufacturer located in Hinckley, there are numerous possibilities offered by the market, with optionals specifi- cally designed for the Tiger that enhance its character as a globetrotter. When it comes to all-around accessories, in Italy (and the world) GIVI is an undisputed reference for construction quality, design, durability, and variety. To “prepare” our Triumph we drew on the 2014 catalog dedicated to the Tiger 800, with a customization that gives a nod to adven- ture and protection, deliberately ignoring one of GIVI’s strong points, the side bags and topcase. We will devote a separate ad hoc article shortly to the new Trekker Outback side bags: aeronau- tical technologies for the riveting and exclusive patents. WINDSCREEN AIR FLOWWe are not all the same height, nor do we drive in the same traffic, speed and temperature conditions. In fact these varia- bles make the ability to vary the height of the dou- ble screen very appreciable, a characteristic that distinguishes the GIVI AirFlow from the vast ma- jority of the motorcycle windscreens mounted as a standard feature. In urban settings the Air Flow, thanks to its generous dimensions (60.5 x 45.5 x 12 cm extension range) offers good protection even in the least extended position, with the two nearly overlapping screens. In the warmer months this position allows a greater flow of cooler air for the benefit of the driver in hot city conditions. In contrast, when the speed increases, whether captions 1) THE TESTS CONDUCTED BY MAGAZINES IN THE SECTOR HAVE FOR SOME TIME BEEN A FEATURE IN THE MAGAZINE. SPACE THIS TIME IS DEDICATED TO THE SERVICE CARRIED OUT BY THE EDITORIAL STAFF OF THE IMPORTANT WEB SITE OMNIMOTO. on highways or freeways, with just a simple manual intervention on the two special clamping systems without the use of tools, in a few seconds, you can vary the height of the outer screen to your liking. The protection provided at highway speeds (and higher) is very good. If you want to take on more challenging off-road trails and want to eliminate excess superstructures, the second screen can be removed easily: protection from the air and the elements in this case rests in the main screen, installed on the appropriate frames. The price of the Air Flow (for the Tiger the code is AF6401), which replaces the original screen, is €172 including mounting kit.
