THE UPDATE IN THE BOX THE NEW AND MUCH AWAITED MAXIENDURO FROM TOKIO HAS STARTED A CRAZE NOT ONLY AMONG MANY BIKERS HUNGRY FOR ADVENTURE, BUT ALSO AMONG THE PRODUCERS OF ACCESSORIES AND SPECIAL PARTS. HERE IS A ‘MADE IN ITALY’ PROPOSAL by Spartaco Belloni, photographs byMarco Zamponi DUERUOTE SUPPLEMENT [SPECIAL] GIVI ACCESSORIES FOR THE HONDA CRF1000L AFRICA TWIN AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 ITEMS Spare-parts and special-parts producers have alre- ady thrown themselves at the new Honda Africa Twin: silencers, complete exhausts, tubeless tires, plexiglass screens, protectors, lights, saddles, bra- ke disks, transmission kits, bags and suspensions are arriving from every part of the globe! A multitude of ‘adversaries’ for Honda itself, which proposes various accessory bundles and a range of bags. Talking of the official Honda bags for the CRF1000L we must say that they have the plus of the coupling system integrated in the passenger handle. Invisible. After-market bags are instead generallymore com- petitively priced, and have the advantage of being universal. New bike? Just change the mounting system... but you’re still using the bags from your old bike. SPOILED FOR CHOICE If there is someone who has not remained idle, regarding the Africa Twin, it’s surely the guys at Givi, company which has founded an empire on undisputedly high-quality cases (it is also supplier of standard equipment for many Motorbike manu- facturers). So that the company from Brescia has produced a nice kit of cases comes as no surprise, but that it would create a whole world of accesso- ries (in constant evolution) was not so obvious. In fact one bike is not enough to display them all! You can choose for example between three plexiglass screens, or three different kinds of cases. On ‘our’ Africa Twin there are the aluminiumones, but there are also the plastic versions. In turn, each case can host soft bags in different materials.
