ENGLISH TEXT T he final user is the reference target. According to their needs and market changes, GIVI develops new products and improves the existing ones. The voice of the users directly reaches the company via different channels (tours, social media, customer care, blogs, travellers...). The new products the brand presented at INTERMOT and EICMA are the result of this exchange of information. The quantity of information makes it impossible to describe it all in only four pages. We chose the most representative data. THE HELMETS: The 2017 range sees the arrival of carbon. It is proposed with the shell of the new full-face 40.5 X-Carbon, previewed at the Salone di Milano. This model, available also in composite fibres (X-Fiber), has top-of-the- range technical characteristics and a decided predisposition for fast touring. The colours contribute to a slick and bold design. Ultra- modern graphics with light fluorescent touches of colour for the X-Carbon (so as not to hide the nice carbon pattern), and decisive colours for the X-Fiber, with a cool mix of shiny and matte. Appropriate is the standard equipment. The Junior 4 is the full face for young passengers A colourful child full-face helmet has joined the Junior 3 jet model, already on the market. Better a full-face or a jet? Parents have to make that choice, so GIVI has decided to offer both kinds. The new Junior 4 has been expressly created for the very young, with a specifically designed shell, with adequate size and lining which wraps well around the face. The cartoon-style graphics, which characterise the Junior 4 will surely be appreciated by bikes and scooter’s young passengers. The urban full-face has evolved with the arrival of the GIVI 50.5 Tridion. In developing it, GIVI applied the same manufacturing philosophy which earned its full-face 50.4 4 stars from the prestigious SHARP institute. An impressive result, considering the price category, which the brand intends to replicate with a more compact, modern and silent 50.5 Tridion. The colour range includes 4 graphic and 2 classic single-colour versions. The new flip-up adds itself to the range of GIVI modular helmets. It’s called X.21 Challenger and is dual homologated jet/full-face (it means you can ride, obviously at low speeds, with the chin guard raised). Proposed in 4 classic single-colour versions, the helmet adapts to any use, from urban to touring; it is excellently equipped, starting from the ventilation system, with sun visor, Pinlock prepared, nose guard, wind deflector, completely removable lining. The chin guard opening is easy to operate. And now for the jets, especially the aesthetic restylings which have affected the models in the range. The helmets that have mostly been subjected to the assault of our brand designer have been 12.3F Stratos Grafica and 30.3 Geneve in particular. The first offers besides the single- colour versions, linear and simple graphics: the elegant black and white with a stand-out GIVI logo, and the ‘visible’ matte titanium livened by neon yellow inserts. Note that this model offers double size of the shell (particularly indicated for those who have problems finding the right feel with sizes), the long protective visor, the standard sun visor and the ventilation system... of a full-face helmet. Also the long-lived jet 30.3, up till now in single colour, has been updated with the arrival of the Geneve version. The new graphics are three, with the same lines but with different colours matching the shell’s colour. We are talking of an urban helmet with a shell that wraps particularly well round the cheeks and with a long visor in order to be less conditioned by the weather. THE HARD CASES: Great enthusiasm for the new Trekker DOLOMITI, the aluminium cases with rounded edges, previewed, in all their splendour, at Intermot and again in Milan. There are also two pure side cases in the range, which arrived on the market during the middle of this year, to which now two top cases have been added. The capacious DLM46 model (46 litres), to mount on any Monokey plate and able to contain a full-face or modular helmet or two jets, and the more streamlined and compact DLM30 (30 litres), to use either as a top or side case (compatible with PL_ _ _ and PLR_ _ _ frames). A series of dedicated accessories, already available, make the use of these top cases even more versatile. The whole range is characterised by a finish in natural aluminium. THE SOFT BAGS: Section connected with the transport of luggage on bikes and scooters, much loved by two-wheelers. The many products presented by GIVI, innovative under all aspects, make the brand the ultimate worldwide point of reference in the market. Let’s start from the GRAVEL-T range, with three new waterproof bags for off-road. Previewed at EICMA have been the GRT706 tank bag, with 6-litre capacity, fixing straps and transparent tablet-holder pocket, the sturdy tool bag GRT707, to fix to the saddle, front mud guard, or as extra support to the side haversacks GRT708. These have a capacity of 15+15 litres, with roll-up closing. To fix them to the frame, on the saddle, straps are used. The ULTIMA–T RANGE has absolutely everything. A choice with in a sense is definitive. The range enters the big family of GIVI soft bags with seven products, aimed mainly at the on-off maxienduro/tourer segment... With interesting deviations towards the scrambler and new classic world. Shapes and sizes suggest other scenarios. The capacities range from 25 to 80 litres. 4 are Waterproof (roll bag, backpack and two cargo bags). To these a capacious saddle bag with moulded bottom, one cargo bag and a pair of side haversacks have been added. The whole range can be seen in the big picture at the beginning of this article. The technical specs would deserve more room but there will be time to get into details. To say goodbye here are the roll and cargo bags, both to fix on the saddle or rack, part of the EASY-T universe. The style is navy (see the air-tight roll-up closing system that allows to reduce the volume according to the content), they are 100% waterproof and produced in compliance with Reach regulations (and this is true for the whole range of GIVI soft bags). The material is Tarpaulin 500D PVC, high-frequency welded, with no stitches. The roll bag EA114 has a capacity of 30 litres and opens on the short side, the cargo bag EA115 arrives at 40 litres and has the classic opening on the long side. Available in two colours. OTHER ACCESSORIES: A real invasion. There’s something for everybody. Form ICE SCREEN, the screen whose edges light up of a nice lively blue when hit by the headlights of oncoming vehicles, to the new pair of anti-fog projectors S321,in black-painted aluminium, from the tool box S250 with Security lock closing system, to fix between the side case frame and the bike’s fairing, to the heat-guard plate S290, for soft bags, to apply to the muffler. Then there’s also the short rear mud flap RM01, the EX2M bag-holder (a sort of tray), in anodized aluminium, to fix to the back plate, the universal mittens TM421 to use on bikes with hand guards and other useful accessories you will soon find on the dynamic and always updated GIVI website.
