They are connected to the design of new product families, and to the introduction of new upgrades to improve their use and performances, often through unique and patent-worthy solutions SMART SECURITY LOCK is a typical example of the company’s philosophy. In essence, it is a new lock mechanism type, protected by 2 exclusive patents, which will be equipped on the new top-of-the-line TREKKER OUTBACK EVO aluminium case generation, including four 58 and 42-litre top cases, eight 48 or 37-litre side cases, and two 33-litre contoured side cases. Those side and rear cases will be launched on the market only as single items, all without lock mechanism, and customers will get to choose the combination they prefer, with no limitations. This is where the SMART SECURITY LOCK kit comes in. In order to be used, each case must include this new kit (sold separately). GIVI has already launched four of them, with serial number SLR10_, offering different solutions based on the user’s personal needs. Up to 5 GIVI products compatible with the SMART SECURITY LOCK may be joined together. SMART SECURITY LOCK THE LOCK MECHANISM GETS A MAKEOVER The technology This new lock mechanism ensures a quick and safe application and replacement, as the key can detect four different positions, equivalent to just as many ways of using the unlocking and locking system, some of which completely new. This system has been designed to offer total freedom and ergonomics to users, whilst reducing the chances of errors or oversights. Also, the lock mechanism is protected by an anti-dust cap. The system’s effectiveness and reliability have been developed and assessed through strict testing, both at the lab and in extreme situations in the desert and on motocross tracks. For further information, follow this link: OPENING BUTTON The company’s R&D introduced a new element to increase the safety level offered by the new lock mechanism. It is a button designed to ensure that the case lid can be closed also with the block mechanism in the open position. This prevents any accidental opening. ANTI-THEFT LEVER The new OUTBACK EVO will also feature an additional anti-theft system: a lever placed inside the case that fixes the top case to the plate below, preventing its removal, regardless of the use of the external commands.
