GIVI Magazine - Dicembre 2021

ENGLISH TEXT GIVI BIKE? FAR FROM A PASSING TREND! The brand has designed, tested and produced a new collection, known simply as GIVI-BIKE, the content of which is absolutely in line with the needs of different users. We are aware that e-bikes are moving ever closer to the needs of those who regularly travel around the city. And, with the increase in range that latest generation batteries afford, users can also explore the surrounding area. Both the motorcycle and cycle media were quick to show their appreciation at EICMA, confirming that the direction taken by GIVI is the right one. Motorcycles and bicycles also share the touring aspect of course, with a large number enthusiasts having in fact chosen to pedal the roads of the world. And many initiatives are dedicated to this very group, also in Italy. BAM! for example, an important European meet that staged its seventh edition in June, in Monti Lessini. This Campfire version of the event brought together more than 600 participants from all over Italy. The profile of people who travel by bicycle? Primarily a young demographic, which includes a significant percentage of women. In designing and creating the “BIKE COLLECTION”, GIVI applies the same principles used for the production of its motorcycle bags in terms of safety, practicality and style, constantly elevating its designs to meet the needs of enthusiasts who belong to different segments of the cycling world. The collection is comprised of three specific lines: URBAN, EXPERIENCE and ADVENTURE. Is this the right direction to take? From the reactions received in September at the ITALIAN BIKE FESTIVAL in Rimini, and from the motorcycle press at EICMA in November, it would appear so. The descriptions and beautiful images accompanying this article should convince you too. GIVI-BIKE enters our group as a new brand. As such, it will be supported by an internal department that can design and develop products from the initial concept through to production, harnessing the wealth of knowledge gained over many years in the motorcycle sector. But let’s take a step backwards and explore the sentiment, or the signals that encouraged us to commit in an official and longlasting manner. It is truly a special time for the cycling sector. Several European countries, including Italy, have set new sales records! New events, exhibitions and shows are springing up across Europe, bicycles are entering the “spaces” of motorised two-wheelers, and the ranks of “green” cyclists who choose to pedal conventional or pedal-assist bikes are growing. And government incentives have given the sector a further push. In 2020, Germany, Portugal and Italy were on the podium in terms of best market results. And this double-digit growth has continued throughout the first half of 2021. GIVI could not stand idly by. We present our new line of products aimed at the traditional bicycle and pedal-assisted market. A natural step for GIVI, and a clear demonstration of the brand’s total interest in the world of two wheels. The project is motivated by the significant expansion of the electric market and a growing awareness of sustainable ethics. THE PROFILE 28 Inside Givi
