GIVI Magazine - Giugno 2022

With regard to brands, the Spanish market continues to be dominated by the more traditional manufacturers, such as Honda (16,852 units) and Yamaha (9,022 units), with the former company, which produces the Goldwing, being the most sold brand, selling almost double the number of vehicles as its Japanese competitor. The Italian Piaggio group (4,889 units) comes in third place, followed closely by another European brand, BMW (4,746 units). Kymco, SYM, KTM, Kawasaki, Zontes and Peugeot complete the top 10 most sold companies in Spain. As expected, GIVI follows the market trends and focuses on both the most in-demand models and the most in-demand brands, offering all users the necessary solutions for their vehicles and brands. The segment that has been experiencing the most growth in Spain in recent years deserves a special mention: the electric motorcycle segment has grown by 21% compared to the same month in 2021. With a total of 4,293 registrations in the first five months of the year, it is becoming the main choice for a significant portion of Spanish society, despite the fact that electric motorcycles only make up 2% of the overall market for motorcycles in Spain. For these vehicles, GIVI also has a number of solutions which include holders for GPS devices, top cases and all kinds of travel accessories, such as the S301 emergency kit. But the Italian manufacturer’s incessant work to develop the motorcycle sector and its firm commitment to sustainable mobility does not stop there. Last year, GIVI launched its range dedicated to bicycles, a complete collection made up of saddlebags and various types of bags (not forgetting frame bags) that meet the needs of a public that is increasingly aware of the need for sustainable and high-performance mobility, seeking high-quality products that meet their needs. This move, which has been particularly welcomed in Spain, represents a strategic step towards the future, targeting a market which is also growing at a rapid pace (it saw total revenues of €2.887 million in 2021, 10.8% more than in 2020, according to the Association of Spanish Brands and Bicycles - AMBE). VERY CLOSE TO THE END USER In order for this product range to meet the numerous needs of Spain’s motorcycle users, it is essential for GIVI to be close to them. The objective is to allow the end user to have detailed knowledge of the products, their highlights and advantages compared with the competition, and to this end GIVI is making significant efforts in Spain to be present at those events where it can provide information amount all that is behind the brand and the solutions that it can offer. For example, for years GIVI has sponsored the LCR Honda Team, which competes in the MotoGP and is currently represented by Álex Márquez and Takaaki Nakagami. And during the Spanish Grand Prix in Jerez, GIVI has always been able to take advantage of such an enormous audience. GIVI Day at the El Motorista store, which attracts hundreds of afficionados and motorists, has already become a regular event to provide information on brand news, and to bring it closer to those who are passionate about competition and travel. Everyone who attended in 2022 was able to enjoy the challenge of meeting MisteryGIVI, who gave them a code to access the brand’s corner within the store and find out about the product while entering a prize draw for equipment and two tickets for the GP. In addition to its presence in high-level competition, GIVI also attends another type of event for fans of touring, such as the Rider 1000, held in Tarragona in May, and the Xtreme Challenge, which takes place in various cities such as Cordoba or Madrid. At those events, the product is brought to a specific type of user, who are allowed to get to know it first-hand through direct interaction in the form of games, while indirect brand positioning work is also done. To directly connect with all the types of motorist who comprise the Spanish market, participation at fairs is essential. ENGLISH TEXT With the return to normality and the return of large-scale events in 2022, GIVI again participated in the Vive la Moto de Madrid event, the most important in the national calendar. In addition to a large stand at which all kinds of cases, top cases, bags and helmets were displayed, in addition to the aforementioned Remove-X system, a very special activity was also carried out, seeking – as always – to give added value to motorists and present the product in an amusing manner. Amagician and an assistant showed all those in attendance the amount of items – some of which were rather unusual – that can fit in one of the brand’s motorbike cases. This was a fun activity which attracted more than 500 participants who also had the possibility of winning prizes such as leather bags and backpacks. Alongside its participation in these large landmark events, GIVI also attends renowned motorcycle rallies, such as Pingüinos, at which it always seeks to leave its mark, as was the case with the special actions carried out in previous years, which allowed the brand to be present throughout the Spanish motoring calendar, showing itself to be the best companion for all motorcyclists. It is a complete plan of action which, together with continuous communications, the presence of material in specialist media and the extraordinary brand image among distributors, has allowed GIVI to be one of the most esteemed brands in a constantly growing market, with a very positive perspective looking forward to the coming months (and years).
