GIVI Magazine - Dicembre 2021

that the product will only become available in a few months’ time, joining the already wellknown 56-litre model. Two new entries in thermoplastic material enrich the “city” top case segment. The new top-of-line 46-LTR Monolock, which flaunts a very trendy and innovative aesthetic, is known as E46 Riviera. The modern design takes nothing away from its functionality, as the Riviera can accommodate two modular helmets, and is therefore a valuable travel companion also for those users who plan to take on more challenging trips than the classic home-work commute. Rounding out the range of new top cases is the C30 top case, decidedly more compact but still aesthetically refined. This new 30 ltr model can accommodate a modular helmet. HELMET DEPARTMENT The 2022 GIVI collection introduces new models, upgrades and aggressive graphics. The most important new product is the 60.1 full-face helmet, all ten different graphic versions of which were on display at the booth. It is an important helmet in that it is the first model to be 100% dedicated to the off-road world, aimed particularly at young owners of small MX, enduro or supermoto bikes. Two additional models are worthy of mention, namely the top-of-line X27 modular helmet, complete with double jet/full-face approval and available with seven different graphics, two of which dedicated to female riders, and the X25 jet, with visor and Pinlock compatibility. This model is particularly protective and also quieter thanks to manufacturing updates introduced by GIVI. This open helmet is produced with two shell sizes and comes with a sun visor as standard. There are five different graphics, one of which is dedicated to female riders. And we close with two new full-face helmets, the 50.9 and the 50.8, both available in a wide range of colours and produced with three shell sizes to satisfy customers’ different requirements. The first is the top of the range model. As well as high-level technical characteristics, such as cheek pads that can be rapidly removed in an emergency, the helmet also flaunts a series of standard features relating to visor management, the user able to choose between the mirrored iridium visor, as shown (to coordinate with the colour of the helmet), or the classic transparent visor. Pinlock Max Vision is always included as standard. The 50.8 model follows the same construction philosophy as the previously mentioned full-face, but is more traditional in terms of its equipment. The five helmets presented are all approved according to the latest European directive ECE 22-06. Without going into too much detail, the new directive foresees additional crash tests, carried out on new points of impact within a defined area of the shell, a second helmet retention test, with a hook applied to the chin guard and, lastly, a “rotational” test, which evaluates the lateral forces in play in case of impact with the ground and in which the helmet is essential dropped onto a curved surface. To find out more, the GIVI YouTube channel includes a video dedicated to the ECE 22-06 directive with time frames relating to its application and coexistence with the previous ECE 22-05. SMALL ACCESSORIES Despite the space available at the exhibition, it would have been impossible for GIVI to “physically” present all the accessories - more than 1000 - that are available to the motorcycle and scooter rider. From this enormous collection, comprising items designed to heighten rider and passenger comfort, protect the bike and optimise load, we selected the very latest and displayed them as if they were works of art on some of the walls of the booth. To cite just two examples, the new E199 and E205 supports for a thermal flask and jerry can are particularly enveloping, more flexible in terms of their positioning on the bike, and complete with a rapid opening system. The new universal S921 Easy Clip for smartphones also deserves a quick mention, the latest addition to the current range of supports. This clip is suitable for use with smartphones that are between 52 and 85mm wide. It also features non-slip rubber inserts and does not interfere with the optics or, therefore, with a phone’s photo and video functions. The new Easy Clip is fixed to a motorcycle or scooter’s rear view mirrors and cross bars, paired with a support that is sold separately. But how to choose these optional elements? Read on.... USER REFERENCE TOOLS “LET GIVI GUIDE YOU” is a new configurator, already available on the GIVI website (give it a try). In three simple steps, the user is able to identify which GIVI supports are compatible with their smartphone/navigation system and can be easily attached to their motorcycle or scooter. ELECTRIC ENJOY is an exclusive Business project, which GIVI presents as an integral part of electric urban mobility relating to different forms of transportation such as scooter sharing, e-bike sharing and delivery services. Practically speaking, ELECTRIC ENJOY proposes automatic opening solutions that can be applied to various GIVI top case models, for both scooters and e-bikes. Another important plus is the Helmet Smart System, a patented system that allows the user to monitor the effective presence of helmets inside a top case. A commitment that sees the brand embrace the new “on demand lifestyle” offered by electric mobility, which is set to become increasingly flexible, safe and digital. GUESTS As well as presenting our new products for the 2022 season, we were visited at the booth by the national and international press, clients, influencers, youtubers and, as of day three, were also able to meet with the public, who enlivened our booth during the second half of the exhibition. As for our international business clients who, for reasons relating to Covid-19 and the restrictions in place in particular countries, were unable to attend the exhibition in Milan, we organised live streaming broadcasts from the booth, and also produced dozens of video presentations about our new products that were promptly made available on our YouTube channel. In conclusion, and despite both pandemicrelated limitations and the absence of some of the key motorcycle manufacturers, the exhibition was once again a spectacular event. Thanks also to the contribution of GIVI, a company more than capable of representing the ‘Made in Italy’ in the world of two wheels. 9 Givi Magazine December 2021
